Periodic exciton–polariton solitons in semiconductor nanowires

Exciton–polariton solitons are nonlinear quasiparticles composed of exciton–photon bound states due to the interaction light with matter. In semiconductor micro-cavity systems, such as micro and nanowires, polaritons characterized by a negative mass which, combined repulsive exciton–exciton interaction, leads generation bright polariton solitons. this work, we investigate dynamics exciton–polariton in finite-sized microcavity waveguide, assuming radiative losses be balanced external pumping. Bright-soliton solutions model equations motion, which consist periodic train pulses, obtained terms Jacobi elliptic functions. Analytical expressions energies both photonic excitonic components pulse found. Results suggest that size nanowire waveguide plays relevant role quantitative estimate energy conveyed propagating medium.
